WALTHAM, Mass. â€" A Waltham couple married for 73 years died just four days apart on the a while of 100 and one hundred and one, leaving behind a legacy of a way to are living and especially a way to love.

Arthur and Norina “Nora” Fitzmaurice met once they have been youngsters and fell in love as young adults.

“i would pray with each and every of them… Daddy’s closing prayer before he would go to sleep can be, ‘dear Lord: Please, take me tonight, and take Mama with me.’ And that became his most useful wish,” Anthony said. “And the Lord gave him that hope. and that i couldn’t be happier for them. As unhappy as we are, i'm very chuffed for them.”

In late January, Arthur died at one hundred and one years ancient. four days later, his bride took her closing breath, unaware her husband become already there waiting for her.

“When John discovered Daddy, he turned into kneeling beside the mattress as if he become praying,” Anthony said.

“That’s a blessing to me that they under no circumstances needed to go through the unhappiness of one devoid of the other, since it would’ve been tragic for both of them,” her brother, John, introduced.

The couple’s funerals were held collectively, their caskets side by using side within the church as they'd been most of their lives.

“They went down [the aisle] in 1948 collectively to start their married life collectively,” Anthony referred to. “after which, [they] went down that aisle one more time to beginning their everlasting existence collectively.”
