Mixed media art is distinguished from multimedia art which combines visual art with non-visual elements, such as literature, motion graphics, music, or interactivity. In visual art, mixed media describes artwork in which more than one medium or material has been used. Assemblages, collages, and sculpture are three common examples of art using different media. Materials used to create mixed media art include, but are not limited to, paint, cloth, paper, wood and found objects. Let me add this statement that making art in your free time help to improve health and life span.
Any material that can be shaped in three dimensions can be used sculpturally. Certain materials, by virtue of their structural and aesthetic properties and their availability, have proved especially suitable. The most important of these are stone, wood, metal, clay, ivory, and plaster. There are also a number of materials that have only recently come into use.
The principal material of sculpture in world and other part of the world like America, Australia wood has also been used by every great civilization; it was used extensively during the Middle Ages, for example, especially in Germany and central Europe. Both hardwoods and softwoods are used for sculpture. Some are close-grained, and they cut like cheese; others are open-grained and stringy. The fibrous structure of wood gives it considerable tensile strength, so that it may be carved thinly and with greater freedom than stone. To make a large or complex shape, several pieces of wood can be joined. And different materials are used.
Any artwork has to be brought in digital form and it is a must in today's world. We put together a few guidelines to photographing artwork so you can begin to photograph any artwork like a pro. As artists, we spend a ton of time perfecting our craft. And then, after hours of working on a painting, exhausted and up against a deadline, we often neglect the most important part of the process: photographing the work. Too many of us are a little lost when it comes to the specifics and settle for a few sloppy shots before shipping the artwork out. Here are five key pointers in moving forward.
1. Hang artwork on the wall, or wooden stand.
2. Light your work properly, we use sun's light where possible.
3. Adjust your camera and settings.
4. Edit your photos to perfection.
