How the Queen has celebrated her birthday through the years – and why these days will set a precedent

only items from pals and household have been allowed: those sent by participants of the public unknown to the birthday woman or her parents were returned to their senders. The day culminated in a party, with a crimson-and-white-iced cake made via the King's chef. As a child, the Queen become exempted from schoolroom training on her birthday; as a substitute she rode her pony. As with many points of the Queen's existence, this early sample modified little over time. In 1956, the Queen spent her 30th birthday at Windsor, with Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Princess Anne. After breakfast, mother and youngsters went using in Windsor excellent Park and, mentioned one newspaper, "in amazing sunshine, they loved a gallop of several miles". In 1962, the Queen mom, Princess Margaret, Lord Snowdon and five-year-ancient Viscount Linley joined them.
