Kelly Clarkson opens up on her divorce: 'My existence has been a bit bit of a dumpster'

Kelly Clarkson is the queen of the breakup anthem. It's no shock, then that the "considering that U Been long gone" singer is getting candid about her personal contemporary break up.

In June, the previous American Idol champ filed for divorce from husband Brandon Blackstock after basically seven years of marriage; Clarkson referred to "irreconcilable transformations" within the submitting. Now the 38-12 months-historical — who shares two little ones, 6-year-old River Rose and 4-year-historical Remington, with Blackstock — is opening up in regards to the cut up in a new interview with Sunday these days.

"I mean, it's no secret," she advised Willie Geist on NBC's Sunday morning news display. "My life has been a little bit of a dumpster ... individually, or not it's been a little difficult the last couple months.

Her relationship woes have helped encourage her next album, out subsequent 12 months. Clarkson says that pouring her coronary heart out via music has been "very therapeutic."

Her son and daughter are already enthusiasts — although the talk exhibit host admits to feeling "weird" about them singing along to songs about her marriage to their father, whom she wed in 2013.

Clarkson — who thanked her ex in her daylight hours Emmy acceptance speech this summer time — also addressed her break up in a contemporary interview with the la times, explaining that she's being reticent out of admire for her babies and Blackstock's two older infants from a previous relationship.
